Gloucester City Football Club are saddened to learn of the passing of club legend Rob Coldray.\r\n\r\nRob was one of only eight players to surpass 300 appearances for the Tigers, and is one of just three to have scored more than 100 goals for Gloucester City.\r\n\r\nHe was also the last surviving member of the Southern League Cup winning side of 1956, which was 60 years ago this coming Thursday 21 May.\r\n

Gloucester born and bred, he was educated at St Thomas Rich’s, where he was described as he could ‘develop into something outstanding at inside right’, they weren’t wrong.

\r\n

The prolific goalscorer made his Southern League debut in 1954 after his release from the army and saw a lifelong affiliation to his local team begin.

\r\n

Arguably his finest moment for the club was a brace, including an extra-time winner, in the sensational 1955/56 Southern League Cup final fightback against Yeovil Town.

\r\n

Brief switches to Cheltenham Town and Cinderford Town sandwiched his three spells with the Tigers and after retirement he became an honorary director of the club.

\r\nWe would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Rob’s family and friends.\r\n\r\nCareer stats\r\n
