A strong Wolverhampton Wanderers XI scored 2 quick second half goals to see off a gallant Gloucester City at Evesham United Jubilee Stadium.\r\n\r\nCity started well and it took a superb last ditch tackle by Calum Harris to deny the onrushing Obi Anoruo.\r\n\r\nGood link up between Anoruo and White resulted in a super save from Burgoyne from a one on one chance from Harry White.\r\n\r\nThe Tigers took a deserved lead after 18 minutes through Harry White, after good work from Lewis Hall to cut the ball back to the striker who buried it from 20 yards.\r\n\r\nCity were riding the wave of momentum and nearly doubled their lead moments after. White drove in a low ball from the right which was just behind the incoming Anoruo. Lewis Hall’s follow up strike forced a great save from Burgoyne.\r\n\r\nWolves’ first chance of note came just after the half hour. Regan Upton appeared almost unmarked at the back post from a corner, but couldn’t direct his header goalwards.\r\n\r\nHarry White had another good chance to grab his second of the game with a chance central to the goal, but he blasted a shot over from 20 yards.\r\n\r\nWolves grabbed an equaliser seconds after the restart following an absolute cracker from Wilson as he struck a volley from the edge of the box low into Jasbir Singh’s net.\r\n\r\nThe visitors doubled their goal tally minutes later as Jasbir Singh was caught out of position and Reid calmly chipped the ball over the City keeper and into the empty net.\r\n\r\nGloucester were steadily getting back into the game and captain Matt Williams had a glancing header from a corner but the connection just wasn’t there and the effort was wide.\r\n\r\nThe Tigers had a glorious chance to equalise through Harry White but the ball caught a bobble as White was bearing down on goal and his effort unfortunately went over.\r\n\r\nSubstitute Ross Staley had a great chance to score his fourth goal of pre-season as he cut back onto his right foot but the effort was tame and straight into Burgoyne’s hands.\r\n\r\nIn the dying embers of the game, Connor Thompson turned a Billy Jones cross into the net but his effort was ruled offside.\r\n\r\nGloucester City: Singh, Hamilton, Jones, Williams, Avery, Connolly, Hicks, Parker, Anoruo, White, Hall\r\n\r\nSubs: Green, Richards, Staley, Thompson\r\n\r\nWolves: Burgoyne, Simpson, Breslin, Harris, Upton, Carter, Bancessi, Kellermann, Reid, Ronan, Delacoe\r\n\r\nSubs: Martinyadze, Flatt, Johnson, Weeks, Rainey, McLeod, Davis-Wilson\r\n\r\nStar man: Adam Connolly (Gloucester City)\r\n\r\nAttendance: 212
