A man of the match performance from Jasbir Singh and a goal on the stroke of half-time from Joe Hanks was enough for City to continue their unbeaten start at home and pile more misery on the winless AFC Telford United.\r\n\r\nThe Tigers had an early chance through Mike Symons who could only head a cross from Connor Thompson over the ball.\r\n\r\nCheltenham Town loanee Joe Hanks was unlucky not to put City ahead after he curled a beauty of a free kick towards the far post that was centimetres wide with James Montgomery rooted.\r\n\r\nJames Bowen skips past Izak Reid and Jordan Goddard, gets the shot away but it’s straight into the hands of Montgomery\r\n\r\nThe first chance for the visitors came following a scuffed clearance from Jasbir Singh, who was then forced into a world class save from a chipped Danny Glover effort.\r\n\r\nGlover was in the thick of things again for AFC Telford, as he rose highest at the back post to meet an Izak Reid cross, but his header cannoned off the post.\r\n\r\nWith Telford gaining momentum, former City man Jordan Goddard was denied a goal by another brilliant stop from Singh one-on-one.\r\n\r\nThe Bucks’ play was all coming through Danny Glover. Ex-Stoke City man Lucas Dawson fed the ball into him 15 yards out but the Telford hitman could only slice his angled shot well wide.\r\n\r\nJust as it looked like the deadlock would remain going into half time, Joe Hanks delivered a beautiful ball that evaded everyone and a mistake from Montgomery saw the ball nestle in the back of the net.\r\n\r\nThe Tigers came out of the blocks quickly in the second half. Symons flicked on ahead of the flapping Montgomery, but Thompson can’t quite get over the ball to head it goalwards\r\n\r\nTelford’s danger man Glover deserved a goal for all his efforts but it just wouldn’t come off for him, as he got the wrong side of Williams who did ever so well to recover and show him wide.\r\n\r\nIzak Reid tried an audacious chip over the frantically back-pedalling Jasbir Singh but in the end the Telford winger’s effort was 5 yards wide.\r\n\r\nAmadou Bakayoko had a glorious chance at the back post from another Reid cross and had an empty net to nod into but could only head wide\r\n\r\nMike Symons wasted a great chance to put the game to bed in the dying moments after he set himself on the edge of the area but could only curl his shot wide.\r\n\r\nAn imperious Jasbir Singh was refusing to be beaten as he pulled off two more unbelievable saves to keep City in the lead.\r\n\r\nFirst, Singh sprawled across to his left to keep out Johnny Gorman; then seconds later Singh was there again, leaping across to claw away a David Hibbert header.\r\n\r\nGloucester City: Singh, Hamilton, Jones, Williams (capt), Avery, Hanks, Liddiard, Thompson (Connolly 84’), Anoruo (White 66’), Symons, Bowen (Hall 22’)\r\n\r\nSubs: Hicks, Parker\r\n\r\nAFC Telford United: Montgomery, Dawson, Campion, Lees, Deaman, Rea, Reid, Goddard (Gorman 66’), Hibbert, Glover (Bakayoko 59’), Clancy (capt)\r\n\r\nSubs: Harrison, Fletcher, Anderson\r\n\r\nReferee: Adam Ricketts\r\n\r\nAttendance: 425\r\n\r\nStar Man: Jasbir Singh
