Gloucester City kicked off their pre-season with a comeback victory against Evesham United thanks to second half goals from debutant Elliott Chamberlain and Adam Mann.\r\n\r\nTigers boss Tim Harris made seven changes at the half-time break making full use of his squad against the Southern League Division One South and West side, who had taken the lead through a Jared Wilson penalty.\r\n\r\nBut, Chamberlain’s finish two minutes into his debut and Mann’s lethal 25 yard effort sealed the victory.\r\n\r\nOn a balmy summer evening at the Jubilee Stadium the hosts burst out of the blocks through Aaron Drake, but his effort went high and wide.\r\n\r\nThe Tigers began to settle and numerous opportunities came their way; firstly a difficult half-volley for striker Nat Jarvis that cannoned into the side netting.\r\n\r\nForward Will Morford spun and shot from 15 yards only to drill the ball wide followed by new signing Sam Avery heading over the bar.\r\n\r\nEx-Tigers goalkeeper Kevin Sawyer showed his class denying Jarvis with a spectacular save to keep the contest level.\r\n\r\nAgainst the run of play, Evesham took the lead through Wilson’s penalty, after Avery had brought down Ashley Edenborough in the box.\r\n\r\nSawyer kept his former side at bay, denying Jarvis twice more and forcing Scott Wilson’s lob wide as the Tigers ended the half in control.\r\n\r\nHarris made seven substitutes at the half-time break and City reaped the benefits immediately with Elliott Chamberlain slotting past Sawyer two minutes into his debut to equalise.\r\n\r\nEvesham came back swiftly and only an incredible goal-line block by Matt Williams denied Sean Wood what would’ve been a great goal.\r\n\r\nThe persistence of Mann showed on 77 minutes, after he dispossessed the Evesham midfield and the forward unleashed a stunning attempt from 25 yards that cannoned off the post and nestled into the corner.\r\n\r\nCity came inches from a third but Chamberlain’s delicate shot clipped the post and Sam Turl couldn’t tuck home the rebound.\r\n\r\nEvesham United:  K.
