Zack Kowitca was understandably a happy man following his hat trick in Gloucester City’s 4-0 thrashing of Alfreton Town.
Kotwica scored goals number 10, 11 and 12 on the season, with Luke Hopper adding his 16th late on.
He was keen to give credit for his team mates, however.
He said: “I’m not just happy with my performance, the whole team played really well. Alfreton are a tough team to break down so we had to be on the top of our game.”
He said a big factor of the win was the pick up in class at the start of the second half.
“At the start of the second half we showed what we could do, we were really good at the start and we carried that throughout the rest of the game.”
Speaking on his hat-trick, Kotwica said “I’m so happy with it, the pitch was bobbly so I was gambling on the keeper making mistakes and fortunately he made two mistakes which gave me some goals. I won myself a penalty and put it away.”
Luke Hopper also found himself on the score sheet today and Kotwica was keen to praise the Tigers top scorer.
“He’s a really good player to play with” Kotwica said. “He’s a big lad who seems to win everything. I just gamble off him and it works. We just seem to gel very well.”
Looking ahead towards the rest of the fixtures, Kowitca said that the play-offs is now the aim.
“We are now really well placed for the play offs, so hopefully as a team we can make movements towards that because that’s what we’re looking to do. Hopefully I can get a few goals along the way.”
