\r\nNorth Ferriby United v Gloucester City

\r\n\r\n\r\nDate: Saturday 17 August, 2013\r\nCompetition: Skrill North\r\nVenue: Eon Visual Media Stadium\r\nKick-off: 3pm\r\n\r\nOpponents: North Ferriby United will be making a debut appearance in the Skrill North this season after winning the Northern Premier League year, fending off the challenge of Hednesford Town. City manager David Mehew has admitted that the Humberside outfit will be something of an unknown quantity, but no doubt will pose a threat.\r\n\r\nFormed in 1934, the club played in the lower reaches of non-league football for most of their history until gaining promotion to the Northern Premier League in 1999/2000 where they remained until becoming champions last season.\r\n\r\nAn impressive pre-season campaign, including the scalp of Scunthorpe United and pushing a near full-strength Hull City side to a 3-1 defeat is no mean feat. Summer signings include ex-Chester midfielder Nathan Jarman who will no doubt bring flair to the midfield, Jamie Yates, formerly of Rotherham United and Jonathon D’Laryea from Gainsborough Trinity.\r\n\r\nForm Guide: The two sides couldn’t have finished last season more differently, with the Villagers unbeaten in their final 12 league games. The Tigers, despite finishing in a joint-record position and a highest ever points total, lost their last five games due to huge injury issues.\r\n\r\nHistory: This will be the first ever meeting between the two sides.\r\n\r\nTeam news: David Mehew has dubbed the current squad as the ‘best team’ he’s ever had, high praise.\r\n\r\nTyler Weir and Scott Wilson will both be re-debuting after spells away, with new signings Matt Groves, Jamie Edge and Ryan Batten also likely to be involved.\r\n\r\nWill Morford, Mat Liddiard and Joe Parker have been sent on loan spells and Adam Mann is still in the United States. Playmaker Lewis Hogg is due to serve to one game suspension, but is to be back for Tuesday’s grudge match against Worcester City.\r\n\r\nGoalkeeper Mike Green will also be making his 100th appearance in a Tigers shirt, well done Mike!\r\n\r\nYou’ll be able to catch full coverage of North Ferriby United v Gloucester City on Severn Sport, on Twitter (@GCAFCofficial) and Facebook (GCAFCofficial) from 3pm Saturday.
