Gloucester City v Hyde FC

\r\n\r\nDate: Saturday 6th September\r\nCompetition: Vanarama Conference North\r\nVenue: Whaddon Road, Cheltenham\r\nKick-off: 3pm\r\n\r\nNon League Day: Saturday is Non League Day, a day in the year where there are no Premier League fixtures, no Championship fixtures and no England international; meaning the focus of English football will be on Non League.\r\n\r\nThis year, in conjunction with league sponsors Vanarama, the Conference wants to set a new all-time record attendance for Conference fixtures, with Vanarama donating a sum of money for every spectator passing through the turnstile to Prostate Cancer UK, a great cause.\r\n\r\nOpponents Formed in 1919, Hyde FC, formerly known as Hyde United, the club spent most of their existence in the Manchester League and Cheshire League, with a brief two year stint in the Northern League before rejoining in 1982.\r\n\r\nThe last decade of the club has been its most successful, winning the Northern Premier League in 2004/05 and then victorious in the Conference North in 2011-12.\r\n\r\nHowever, last season saw the club plummet to a record low points total and find themselves back in the Conference North, albeit with tens of thousands of Twitter followers due to the club’s humorous take on last season.\r\n\r\nAlso known as the Tigers, the club play at Ewen Fields, which they share with Manchester City’s Reserves and Academy.\r\n\r\nTeam news: Club captain Jack Harris has been training hard with the squad this week but still isn’t match ready as manager Tim Harris is bringing him back slowly into the fold.\r\n\r\nLewis Hogg is still a few weeks from fitness after a long absence with a knee injury.\r\n\r\nHowever, the rest of the squad is fit and raring to go after a memorable 4-1 victory at Guiseley last weekend.\r\n\r\nYou’ll be able to catch all of the action from Whaddon Road on Twitter (@GCAFCofficial) and Facebook (GCAFCofficial) from 2.45pm Saturday afternoon.
