\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nDate: Saturday August 23rd\r\nCompetition: Vanarama Conference North\r\nVenue: Whaddon Road, Cheltenham\r\nKick-off: 3pm\r\nOpponents: The Pitmen were formed in 1880 but only came to prominence in the last 25 years by gaining promotion to the Southern League Premier Division in 1991 and also losing to Welsh Cup final  to Cardiff City that season.\r\n\r\nThe club were promoted to the Football Conference in 1995 and finished a record third place the following season, and playing Middlesbrough in the FA Cup Fourth Round as well as beating Hull City away the following year.\r\n\r\nThe Staffordshire outfit won the FA Trophy in 2004 and were promoted to the newly formed Conference North the next season, and were again in 2012-13 season where they have remained since; they finished 4th in their first season back.\r\n\r\nThe last meeting between the two came in December 2013, when the Tigers shocked table-topping Hednesford with a 5-1 victory at Whaddon Road.\r\n\r\nTeam news: The Tigers have a near clean bill of health apart from Lewis Hogg who is making progress with his knee injury, and club captain Jack Harris is nearing contention after completing light training in  recent weeks.\r\n\r\nLast Saturday’s 2-2 draw at North Ferriby United was another excellent display and Tim Harris’ men felt hard done by as only a controversial equaliser denied the Tigers victory, something they’ll be looking to avenge on Saturday to pick up their first victory of the season.\r\n\r\nSaturday also begins a testing few days for the Tigers, as they face a visit to local rivals Oxford City on Bank Holiday Monday, meaning two games in three days.\r\n\r\nYou’ll be able to catch all of the action from the Whaddon Road on Twitter (@GCAFCofficial) and Facebook (GCAFCofficial) from 2.45pm tomorrow afternoon.\r\n\r\n Gloucester City’s media coverage is sponsored by Baylis Motors.
