\r\n\r\n\r\nDate: Saturday 31 August, 2013\r\nCompetition: Skrill North\r\nVenue: Whaddon Road\r\nKick-off: 3pm\r\n\r\nOpponents: Formed in 1909 by a group of local football enthusiasts, after 70 years of playing in local Yorkshire football, the Lions were founding members of the Northern Counties League in 1982.\r\n\r\nThe club won the 1991 FA Vase by beating Gresley Rovers (infamous to City fans, for sure), 3-1 at Bramall Lane after a 4-4 draw at Wembley Stadium, this also coincided with promotion to the Northern League. They reached the FA Vase final again in 1992, losing to Wimborne Town. Two years later, they reached the FA Trophy Semi-finals, losing to Runcorn.\r\n\r\nThe Yorkshire side floated around the Northern League system until winning promotion in 2009-10, their centenary season. They’ve excelled in the Conference North ever since, coming tantalisingly close to promotion on multiple occasions.\r\n\r\nThe club’s charming Nethermoor Ground is adjacent to a cricket club, of which they share the clubhouse, with a capacity of 3,000 it is among the smallest in the division.\r\n\r\nForm Guide: The Lions have had a mixed start to their campaign, much like City, and currently lay two places and one point ahead of the Tigers, after a draw against Colwyn Bay and victories over Workington and Gainsborough Trinity.\r\n\r\nHistory: City and Guiseley have only met in the Skrill North, the first meeting came on September 18th 2010 at Whaddon Road, where the visitors won 2-1.
