Gloucester City will travel to Conference South high-flyers Ebbsfleet United this weekend in the FA Trophy First Round.\r\n\r\nWith the Tigers currently propping up the Skrill North league table after a wretched run of league results, the two cup competitions have seen City somewhat excel; and will take part this weekend after a gallant victory over Boreham Wood.\r\n\r\nCity boss Dave Mehew will see the trip to Kent as a distraction, but with £5,000 for the winning club and a place in the last 32; it could kickstart the Tigers season.\r\n\r\nEbbsfleet currently sit in the play-off positions in the Conference South, so the Tigers will be in for a difficult contest.\r\n\r\nAlthough, two sides are very familiar to each other, with the Fleet being City’s 13th most played opponent in history.\r\n\r\nHowever, Saturday’s meeting will be the first between the two since April 1997; a game which the Tigers were victorious 3-1.\r\n\r\nThe Tigers quartet of Football League loanees, Bristol Rovers’s Jordan Goddard, Torquay United’s Kyrtis MacKenzie, Swindon Town’s Connor Waldon and new signing, Cheltenham Town’s Zack Kotwica will all be available for selection with only Lewis Hogg and defender Sam Rawlings remaining as the only injury worries.\r\n\r\nThere will be full match commentary on Severn Sport, live match updates on Twitter (@GCAFCofficial) and goal updates on Facebook.
