The Tigers are now unbeaten in their previous four games, including wins in their last two over Halifax Town and Alfreton Town respectively. City defeated in-form Halifax Town at The Shay before dispatching Alfreton Town 4-0 at Whaddon Road on Saturday.
The hosts on Saturday come in the form of Curzon Ashton. In their last five games they have picked up seven points out of a possible 15, enjoying wins against Nuneaton and Chorley, but also succumbing to defeat to Stockport County and most recently FC United of Manchester on Monday night.
Zack Kotwica is a player in form for City, as shown in the game against Alfreton when he bagged himself a hat-trick. He’s now scored 12 goals for City so far this season and will be a key player for The Tigers as they look to close the gap on the elusive play-off places with seven games to spare.
Niall Cummins is a player The Tigers will need to keep a close eye on. He’s netted 13 times in 34 games so far this season, including two in his last encounter against Chorley.
Head To Head
There has only ever been three previous meetings between these two sides. The Tigers have won once, drawn once, and lost once to Curzon Ashton. The first meeting between the two sides was last season, with City prevailing – winning 3-1, and it included a first senior goal for Robbie Cundy.
The last meeting between these two sides was earlier in the season, and Curzon Ashton recorded their first victory over City, winning 2-0 after City’s goalkeeper Jasbir Singh was wrongfully adjudged to have handled outside the box which left Joe Hanks in goal for the best part of 50 minutes. The decision was subsequently reversed on appeal.
