Date: Saturday, 6 February 2016\r\n\r\nCompetition: Vanarama National League North\r\n\r\nKick-Off: 15:00\r\n\r\nLocation: Whaddon Road, Cheltenham\r\n\r\nFollowing last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Boston United, Gloucester City will look to extend their unbeaten January into February as they welcome Chorley to Whaddon Road.\r\n\r\nThe Tigers victory came courtesy of a Joe Parker goal after he showed good persistence after his initial shot was deflected into the air.\r\n\r\nLast season, City came out on top of both meetings against Chorley, winning both matches 2-1, with the second of those matches all but securing the Tigers National League North safety for another season.\r\n\r\nThe two sides were due to meet in January but the pitch at Chorley failed an early inspection and that match has been rearranged for Tuesday 16 February, 19:45 kick-off.\r\n\r\nThere will be a pitch inspection at Whaddon Road at 9:30 on Saturday morning as a precaution.\r\n\r\nA win over Chorley could see the Tigers leapfrog the Magpies in the table, and City will be full of confidence after Tim Harris and central defender Robbie Cundy picked up the Vanarama awards for National League North Manager and Player of the Month respectively.\r\n\r\nHarris said “I’m absolutely delighted for the fans of Gloucester City because everyone knows the situation and knows we are competing in a very competitive league with minimal resources.\r\n\r\n“I dedicate it to the fans of Gloucester City because they’ve had a tough time. The time and effort that goes in includes the supporters who have played a vital part in running this football club.”\r\n\r\nLooking ahead to Saturday’s match, Harris says “They had a fantastic result on Tuesday night against FC Fylde who will be there or thereabouts and they’re another big strong unit.\r\n\r\n”They should’ve probably done better than they have done and I’m sure they’ll be up there.\r\n\r\n”It will be another strong test so it’s important we focus on the job in hand, be determined to not let our standards drop because it will be another real tough encounter and hopefully we’ll come away with another three points.”\r\n\r\nThe opponents: \r\n\r\nTo read on the history of Chorley FC, visit their Wikipedia page.\r\n\r\nTeam news: \r\n\r\nLuke Hopper is still struggling with an ankle injury picked up against Stockport County.\r\n\r\nCalvin Dinsley will have a fitness test before the match on an Achilles injury.
