\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nDate: Sunday 30th November\r\nCompetition: FA Trophy Third Qualifying Round\r\nVenue: Whaddon Road, Cheltenham\r\nKick-off: 3pm\r\nOpponents: Bath City were formed in 1889 as Bath AFC and have spent their entire existence in the upper echelons of n0n-league football.\r\n\r\nAfter a few years in the Western League, they joined the Southern League where they have spent much of their existence.\r\n\r\nDuring World War Two, Bath were placed in a war-time league with teams such as Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton; and actually won the division, becoming the only non-league team to win a Football League trophy.\r\n\r\nThey were original founders of the Conference National and have floated between the two divisions in the last few seasons, after winning the Conference South play-off’s in 2010.\r\n\r\nPrevious Meetings: This will be the 67th meeting between the two clubs, and the first since 2007; on that day promotion candidates Bath were held 2-2 at Twerton Park as two quick goals from Alex Sykes and Scott Griffin retrieved City a draw.\r\n\r\nArguably the biggest match between the two came in 1949, when Gloucester City defeated their hosts 3-2 to book their place in the FA Cup First Round for the first time, in front of over 7,000 fans.\r\n\r\nTeam news: Matt Groves is recovering from a bad bout of tonsillitis, Billy Jones suspended and Joe Parker’s international clearance hasn’t through on time but 28 year old former Salisbury and Bashley midfielder Chris Knowles will be on the bench for our FA Trophy tie this afternoon.\r\n\r\nYou’ll be able to catch all of the action from Whaddon Road on Twitter (@GCAFCofficial) and Facebook (GCAFCofficial) from 2.45pm tomorrow afternoon.
