Altrincham v Gloucester City

\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nDate: Tuesday 24 September, 2013\r\nCompetition: Skrill North\r\nVenue: J. Davidson Stadium (also known as Moss Lane)\r\nKick-off: 7.45pm\r\n\r\nOpponents: Formed in 1891, they spent their early years participating in the Cheshire League and achieved little success until the 1960’s. They became founding members of the Northern League in 1968, and then founding members of the Conference 11 years later.\r\n\r\nSince then the club has floated between the Northern League and the Conference, their stint in the Conferece included three successive ‘relegations’, only to be reprieved due to the troubles of Scarborough, Canvey Island, Boston United and Halifax Town; before finally succumbing to relegation in 2011.\r\n\r\nThe Robins are most famous, or infamous, for their exploits in the FA Cup having taken the scalps of 16 Football League sides; a record. These include names such as Birmingham City, Blackpool and Sheffield United. They have reached the FA Cup Third Round on seven occasions, including four years in a row from 1978-1982. They have also won the FA Trophy on two occasions.\r\n\r\nForm Guide: The Manchester side currently sit sixth in the Skrill North after an encouraging start to the season that included a famous 3-0 home win against Stockport County. A loss to North Ferriby United this weekend remains their only loss of the season so far; so it will be a very tough trip to Dave Mehew’s men.\r\n\r\nRecent form – WWDWDL\r\n\r\nHistory: Tuesday will be only the fifth meeting between the two sides, with the scores currently even with a win apiece. City’s only win coming in November 2011 with Tom Webb and Darren Edwards scoring for a 2-1 victory.\r\n\r\nAltrincham wins: 1\r\n\r\nDraws: 2\r\n\r\nGloucester City wins: 1\r\n\r\nTeam news: The only major doubt for Gloucester City is striker Darren Edwards, who suffered a shoulder injury against Boston.\r\n\r\nYou’ll be able to catch full coverage of Altrincham v Gloucester City on Twitter (@GCAFCofficial) and Facebook (GCAFCofficial).
