The following is a statement from Gloucester City Chairman Nigel Hughes, updating the current financial situation.\r\n\r\n“Colin Peake, Club Consultant, has been busy talking to a number of individuals and companies since the season ended and he has now been able to produce a restructure plan.”\r\n\r\n“It is hoped this new plan will allow the two current options of a site for the new stadium, at Meadow Park and Estcourt Road, to proceed without any hindrance to the playing side of the club.\r\n\r\n“Part of his endeavours has been preparing a budget with potential investors taking a leading role and not forgetting to embrace all the hard working club officials and Supporters Trust.\r\n\r\n“If all the strands do meet with acceptance, then this exciting way forward will be publicly announced within the next few weeks as there is still much to do.\r\n\r\n“Fans must be mindful that the club needs to clear existing matters from the past season to allow the new investment and structure to have full and unrestricted access to enable the club to offer the best playing budget it can, alongside sensible commercial and marketing initiatives in the current climate, to supplement that investment.\r\n\r\n“A number of people are working hard to make this all happen and ensure the future of the club is more secure. Please be patient.\r\n\r\nThank you.\r\n\r\nNigel Hughes.”
