Gloucester City Football Club tonight announce that the club has parted  company with long-standing Manager David Mehew following discussions about the position of the team and the absolute need to stay in the Skrill North for next season.\r\n\r\nChairman Stuart Pike said “that was one of the most difficult conversations I have ever had, because Dave has been a stalwart for the club over a lot of years, has shown a huge commitment to the cause and has produced some good teams on a shoe-string budget.  But we need to ensure that we drive the club forward and following discussions we have taken a hard decision but one we feel is in the best interests of the club.  Dave was typically an absolute gentleman, whilst obviously disappointed he took the decision with fantastic grace, as he did when we informed the players shortly after our meeting.  He is a skilful manager, and a thoroughly decent human being and we wish him every success in the future”.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe club will now look to make an appointment as quickly as possible.  In the interim assistant manager Matt Rose and Coach Neil Mustoe will take charge of all team affairs
