Gloucester City Football Club have made their first significant signing off the field to assist their efforts on it for the coming season.\r\n\r\nBurger Star Gloucester has stepped forward to become a club sponsor for 2013/14 with a package of direct financial input.\r\n\r\nStuart Pike, on behalf of Burger Star, is overjoyed to lend support to his home City club at a time when help is needed.\r\n\r\n”We may not be considered or seen as a major company locally but we do have a brand which is well known in the heart of the City Centre, in football terminology one could say it’s almost like comparing the Tigers with clubs in the Premier League,” Pike said.\r\n\r\n“At Burger Star we see ourselves as part of the fabric of the local business community and if we can help the club to compete and maintain the level required to deliver their new stadium, surely others in and around can find some small amount to sponsor them in a similar and tangible manner.\r\n\r\n“We are hopeful we are just the first of many who will join with us to ensure the club is financially stable.”\r\n\r\nGloucester City chairman Nigel Hughes has welcomed the help of Burger Star and responded positively to the news of the deal being brokered so quickly.\r\n\r\nHughes stated: “This is good news for the Club and a positive outcome against recent disclosures.”\r\n\r\n“Despite constantly battling and having to find new directions since the floods put the Club on a back foot, we have demonstrated we can continue to overcome despite the odds often being stacked against us.\r\n\r\n“It has been hard work but this sponsorship gives us all a lift and I can only mirror the view expressed by Stuart.\r\n\r\n“If others can do a little bit to help, it relieves the constant pressure we are under.”\r\n\r\n“Just imagine if you ran your business from a shop in Cheltenham, yet your customers were in Gloucester. Would you still be in business six years down the line?” Hughes questioned.\r\n\r\n“Gloucester City will continue to explore all avenues to ease the burden they have to carry and are hopeful that more good news will be forthcoming shortly on both the playing side and with new stadium discussions. “\r\n\r\nIn the meantime, if you wish to find out more how you could help the Tigers then call 07763 831070 and speak to Colin Peake who is acting for them as a consultant and seeking new partners and sponsorship.\r\n\r\nIt is also timely to remind individuals and businesses, they can help the club and still enjoy themselves without watching football, as the club have a Beer, Comedy and Curry night on Saturday 27th July at Hatton Court Hotel. Tickets are £25 each and again you can obtain more details by calling Colin Peake.
