Gloucester City have signed Newport County goalkeeper Jamie Stephens on a month’s loan deal.\r\n\r\nStephens, 21, has been a part of the Forest Green Rovers, Swindon Town and Liverpool youth systems, before joining the South Wales side.\r\n\r\nHe will be travelling up with the team to Barrow Friday afternoon, but the club is still awaiting international clearance on the deal.\r\n\r\nManager Tim Harris is thrilled that his relationship with Newport County boss Justin Edinburgh has engineered the move.\r\n\r\n”It is unfortunate that we had to end Paul White’s deal, as FA rulings state that you can’t play against your parent club, I was really pleased with Paul and would like to thank Forest Green Rovers for letting us have him.”\r\n\r\n”I am delighted that Jamie will be joining the squad for the next month, we really needed two goalkeepers heading into the next few fixtures and  I have a great relationship with Justin Edinburgh, it will be good to give Jamie some more first team experience.”\r\n\r\n
