Gloucester City AFC are pleased to announce the appointment of Shayne Bradley as a youth coach.
Shayne, 32, will assist Ken Blackburn, City’s Youth Development Manager in coaching the under 18s team.
Ken said he was delighted to have a player with Shayne’s experience join the club.
He said: “I believe Shayne to be good appointment for the long term, with a good playing career and international experience behind him, he should be a great asset to the club. “He is Gloucester born and bred, played for Southampton, Mansfield and Chesterfield, and in his younger days England youth.
“Shayne will continue to play for Tuffley Rovers on a Saturday, as this will not impose on midweek under 18s games, we are delighted to have him at the club.”
Shayne first started playing football for Robinswood Youth and Heron Primary School. As a member of the Sir Thomas Rich’s football team he won three Gloucestershire County Cup trophies before signing for Southampton on his 14th birthday.
After a professional career taking in spells at Southampton, Mansfield and Chesterfield he returned home to Gloucester. He has previously enjoyed a brief spell coaching Gloucester City’s u12s before joining Tuffley Rovers.
