Darren Mullings has departed Gloucester City this evening to sign with Skrill North rivals Oxford City.\r\n\r\nThe midfielder, who has played 136 times for the Tigers, scoring 28 goals, leaves the club after a four year spell when he signed from Weston-super-Mare.\r\n\r\nCity manager Tim Harris is disappointed that Mullings has left the club but understands the reasoning why.\r\n\r\n”I would personally like to thank Darren Mullings as in the short time I have worked with him, he has been first class,” said Harris.\r\n\r\n“I am disappointed he has left the club, especially to one of our relegation rivals but I fully understand that with a young family he couldn’t turn down the financial package they have offered.”\r\n\r\n“From our point of view we will continue to pay what we can afford and look at increasing the clubs revenues as we strive to progress.”\r\n\r\nThe midfielder took to Twitter to thank the club and its loyal supporters.\r\n\r\n“I would like to say a big thanks to everyone at Gloucester City, I enjoyed my time at the club and I wish you all the best for the future.”
