Tuesday 17th April 2018
National League South
Kick Off: 19:45
Gloucester City host St Albans as the Jubilee on Tuesday in the penultimate home game of the season.
This is a rearranged fixture, which was supposed to be played back in March, only for the weather to force the postponement.
The game comes just days after City claimed a hard-earned point in what was a difficult afternoon at Hampton & Richmond on Saturday.
Joe Parker continued his incredible form, his goal at the weekend takes his tally to 13 for the season.
The visitors on Tuesday night are in desperate need of the points to aid their promotion push.
The previous meeting between the two produced five goals in a thrilling encounter at Clarence Park. A late Robbie Cundy goal ensured City ran out 3-2 winners back in September.
A victory for the Tigers could lift them as high as 11th, as they enter the final ten days of the season.
The Hertfordshire side have suffered a dip in form and it could not have come at a worse time, three straight league defeats have left them clinging on to the final playoff position.
Despite taking the lead, they were narrowly beaten at Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday.
And with Braintree just two points behind and with a game in hand, St Albans will know they will probably have to win their remaining three matches to finish in the top six.
In Sam Merson, they one of the leagues deadliest forwards, the 23-year-old has scored 17 goals in the league this campaign.
Rhys Murrel-Williamson also provides a goal-scoring threat from midfield with 12 goals in 36 games.
Anything less than a win for St Albans on Tuesday night could see them drop out of the playoff places.
