Hampton & Richmond vs Gloucester City
Saturday 14th April 2018
National League South
Kick Off: 3pm
Gloucester City travel to the Beveree Stadium on Saturday to face promotion-chasing Hampton & Richmond.
The Tigers will be looking to bounce back from their narrow defeat at home to Dartford in midweek.
Despite a spirited performance, City were beaten by a late first-half goal in what was their first home loss in over two months.
Saturday’s hosts, however, look set for a place in the play-offs after a solid campaign, which has seen them lose just six times this season.
The two sides shared the points back in September, Joe Parker’s strike was cancelled out moments later by Hudson Odoi in a 1-1 draw at the Jubilee.
A win for City could see the move up to 11th, providing results elsewhere go their way.
Although they sit 3rd in the table and pretty much certain of a play-off place, the last couple of months have not been kind to the Beavers.
Just one win in the last six has seen their title hopes fade away and they have struggled to pick up wins on the road in recent months, the last away victory coming at Chelmsford in January.
But it’s at home where they have really been solid, just one defeat all season – a 1-0 loss to Havant & Waterlooville. They have been watertight at the back too, Dartford, the only side to have scored more than once at the Beveree this season.
Former Wycombe midfielder, Max Kretzschmar, has been the go-to man this season with 13 league goals.
Gloucester City have finally gotten international clearance for deadline day transfer Tyrone Tucker-Dixon who is now available for selection.
