Gloucester City vs Dartford Preview
Tuesday 10th April 2018
National League South
Kick Off: 19:45
Gloucester City host title-chasing Dartford under the lights at the Jubilee Stadium on Tuesday.
City will be looking to secure back to back victories after Saturdays 3-2 win over Bognor Regis Town.
Two goals from Joe Parker, a bullet header from Matt Williams and a stunning last-gasp save from James Hamon were enough to see off a late Bognor fightback.
The Tigers currently sit 13th in the National League South and three points on Tuesday could see them jump up to 11th.
A win would also make it five in a row at home, City’s best run of the season.
But the challenge is a big one, the visitors are the form side in the division and have been scoring freely this season.
City were well beaten in the reverse fixture back in November, a goal from Jamie Edge proved to be nothing but a consolation as Dartford ran out 4-1 winners.
Dartford sit second in the table, just three points off the top and with a crucial game in hand over leaders Havant & Waterlooville.
The visitors have won six of the last seven and are the league’s top scorers with an impressive 74 goals.
Former Millwall forward Alfie Pavey has been in scintillating form this season with 20 goals so far, this campaign, whilst strike partner Andy Pugh and midfielder Elliot Bradbrook are both into double figures.
However, despite the dazzling forward line, Dartford have been leaking goals recently with just three clean sheets since the turn of the year.
Tuesday night is the beginning of a three-game road trip for the Kent side in their bid to clinch the title.
