Gloucester City vs Bognor Regis Town Preview
Monday 7th April 2018
National League South
Kick Off: 3pm
Gloucester City host Bognor Regis Town at the Jubilee on Saturday as they look to bounce back from two straight defeats in the National League South.
City were beaten 5-1 by Bath on Monday, the result was the clubs biggest defeat of the season so far. This compounded a frustrating Easter weekend for Marc Richards side after Saturday’s home match with St Albans was called off due to the weather.
The Tigers currently sit 14th in the table with six games to go, a victory on Saturday could lift them as high as 11th.
Two late goals from substitute Ed Williams earned City a point in an entertaining 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture back in September.
City have been strong at home in recent weeks though, unbeaten in their last four and winning the last three.
They face a Bognor Regis side who are desperate for all three points in their uphill battle to avoid relegation.
It’s not been a good season for the Rocks so far, they currently sit in the relegation zone and are 13 points from safety.
Just four wins in the league this campaign is the lowest in the division, they are also the lowest scorers with just 33 goals.
Regis were beaten by Weston-super-Mare last Saturday, which was followed by a 3-0 defeat away at Eastbourne on Easter Monday.
On Saturday the visitors will be hoping to avoid a sixth straight league defeat, with their last victory coming at home to Braintree in February.
Forwards Jimmy Muitt and Ollie Pearce have been their main source of goals this season with 8 and 6 respectively.
Bognor have only won once on the road this season, a 2-1 victory over St Albans back in November.
