National League South

Kick Off: 19:45

Twerton Park

Tonight, is the first derby of the season, as Gloucester travel to Twerton Park to face local rivals Bath City.

The Tigers suffered a disappointing defeat at home to newly promoted Slough Town at the weekend, our second of the season.

Marc Richards’ side will be hoping to put in a better showing then they did in their last trip to Bath, where they were thrashed 5-1. Despite Lewis Hall giving City the lead in the first half, the Romans produced a stunning performance to hand the Tigers their biggest defeat of the season.

City go into tonight’s game 15th in the National League South, just a place lower than our hosts.

The Opposition:

Our hosts go into the game with a similar record to us, 3 points from three games and only single goal difference better off.

They started the season with a narrow 2-1 defeat at home to Dartford, despite taking an early lead the Romans conceded late on.

Just a few days later they suffered a similar fate, this time away at Torquay, losing 1-0.

But last weekend, they got their first points of the season with a win over Hampton & Richmond. Sean Case with a second-half strike to earn Bath all three points.

Ross Stearn provides their main source of goals, the 27-year-old has an excellent goal-scoring record in recent seasons and joined the club in the summer.

Whilst forward Andy Watkins has made over 200 appearances in his six seasons with the club, scoring 50 times.
