Gloucester City AFC are proud to announce that Marc Richards has been awarded the Manager of the Month award for February.
City started February facing a jam-packed schedule due to a winter period plagued by postponements and with a series of tough away fixtures featuring the league’s most inform teams. Marc Richards’ Gloucester City have seen themselves put together an impressive run of four wins, two draws and one loss in all competitions, progressing to the final of the Gloucestershire Senior Challenge Cup and getting their second goal of the season contender in Joe Hanks’ spectacular strike from inside his own half.
On his achievement Marc was characteristically modest,
“Of course, I’m proud to receive the award, it’s a great honour. However, this award is a reflection not of just my work but the work of the management and support team, the confidence that the lads are playing with and the efforts and work rate they’ve displayed over a period which, we knew going into it could end up defining our season.”
“The way they’ve responded to that challenge as a team and individuals makes me proud to be their manager and the manager of this club. By no means is our hard work over and we’ve still got plenty of points to fight for, so as always whilst it’s great to get the recognition, our focus remains always on our next opponents and trying to get the three points.”
Marc Richards’ Gloucester City AFC travel away to Eastbourne Borough tomorrow, kick off at 15:00.
