Departing Tiger Matt Lock has wished all at Gloucester City AFC well as he prepares for a new challenge, thousands of miles away from the club in Australia.\r\n\r\nThe cultured midfielder has penned a short farewell letter to fans following the news that he is to leave the club:\r\n\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\nAs most are aware, I am going to Australia for 4 months to play for Bunbury Forum Force in the Western State Premier Division. Have to say that this was quite an easy decision for me, not because of my current position at Gloucester City AFC but because things haven’t quite gone as planned away from football.\r\nI have loved my time at Gloucester and the staff, players and supporters have been immense, but this is an opportunity that I have to take. I have made some good mates that I will definitely keep in contact with, and that doesn’t happen a lot in football. However, I’m not getting any younger and it’s the perfect time for me to see the world, play some football and test myself in another environment… And enjoy some sun!\r\nI wish Gloucester all the success in the future and hope to see the club back in their home town and progressing up the league. I honestly think I will come back and see the club fighting for a play off place in 2013 with success imminent.\r\nI appreciate that it’s not an ideal situation for the supporters to have to travel to Cheltenham every other week but the players need and value the support you give.\r\nThanks again,\r\nAll the best and perhaps our paths will cross in the future.\r\nLocky\r\n\r\n
