Gloucester City Football Club are delighted to announce that Joe Parker has signed a contract to the club for the upcoming National League South season.
Parker, 22, will return for his sixth season with the Tigers since breaking into the team as a youngster in 2012.
Following a stunning hat-trick against Yate Town in the FA Cup in 2013, Parker was signed by now-Tigers manager Tim Harris for Newport County, before he rejoined the club on a free transfer ahead of the 2015/16 season.
He was joint top goalscorer for the Tigers that year before notching nine goals in 2016/17, including City’s first goal of the season away at Salford City on the opening day.
Speaking to gloucestercityafc.com, Tim Harris said that he was delighted to get Parker signed up for next season.
“Obviously I’m delighted to have Joe back next year he has great potential and I still don’t feel we’ve seen the best of him”
“He is one of our own having come through our excellent youth academy, he does a lot of work for the Young Tigers initiative and I know that the fans will be very pleased to see him back in Gloucester City colours next year.
“Joe is a fantastic finisher and he’s very excited about the new challenge of the National League South, as we all are.”
The Tigers kick off their pre-season schedule on Saturday 8 July at Evesham United. The full schedule can be downloaded here.
