We are pleased to confirm the loan signing of Cheltenham Town wide midfielder James Bowen.\r\n\r\nBowen, 19, was on loan with the Tigers for a period last season where he played a key role in City securing their status in the (what was then) Conference North.\r\n\r\nBowen is a left back by trade but during his time with us last season operated in a much more advanced role on the left wing.\r\n\r\nHe was one of many prospects who, under the guidance of ex-Cheltenham Town manger Russell Milton, impressed during his scholarship years enough to earn a professional contract.\r\n\r\nBowen has Football League experience under his belt; after he was recalled from his loan spell with us last season, he was involved in Cheltenham’s run-in to the end of the League 2 season.\r\n\r\nTim Harris commented “James is a good acquisition, will provide excellent competition and on top of that he is a lively character which we are all delighted he has joined the club on loan until January 2016. Cheltenham do have the call back option after the first 28 days.”\r\n\r\nMeanwhile midfielder Sammie Hicks, who is under contract with the Tigers, will be going on loan to Shortwood United in order to get some game time, although he will not be allowed to play in the FA Cup for the Southern Division One South & West side.
