Gloucester City defender Jack Harris has signed a two year contract to remain at the club.\r\n\r\nThe 24-year-old has been a standout performer since joining the Tigers in 2008 and recently notched up his 200thappearance for Gloucester City.\r\n\r\nThe Bristol native’s performances have met with admiring glances from clubs in higher leagues but the defender believes his, and the club’s, future is bright under Tim Harris.\r\n\r\n“After sitting down with Tim and having a long talk about various things I was excited to listen to what he had to say about the type of club Gloucester City can be and what it aspires to be,” explained the centre-back.\r\n\r\n“I’ve been at the club for six years and personally I haven’t really seen the real Gloucester City due to us not having our own ground in the city.\r\n\r\n“I use the new ground as a positive factor and it is definitely something that I am looking forward to being part of in the future.\r\n\r\n“On the pitch, I feel Tim has come in under extreme pressure and along with the other staff, but they have done a great job in getting the lads together and securing our position in the league for next year.\r\n\r\n“The passion he shows for the club and the professionalism he brings with him is what you want to play under, he wants the team to be positive and most of all enjoy the game so as a player that’s all you can ask for.”\r\n\r\nCity boss Tim Harris is thrilled that ever-present defender has decided to remain at the Skrill North outfit.\r\n\r\n”I am delighted to announce that Jack Harris has signed a new two year contract,” Harris said.\r\n\r\n“Having known Jack since he first joined the club he has been a tremendous asset on and off the field.”\r\n\r\n“Jack is a firm fan’s favourite and an integral part of the playing squad for my future plans.”\r\n\r\nHarris, who made his debut in August 2008 against Oxford City, is looking ahead to the next couple of seasons and hopes the club can achieve more success.\r\n\r\n“I am looking forward to seeing what we can produce as a club over the next couple of seasons.”\r\n\r\n“I’d like to say a massive thank you to the fans for sticking by myself and the team on an up and down season and I am looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead for Gloucester City.”
