Gloucester City can announce that as a thank you to fans for continuing to support the Tigers and to make 2014 a memorable one, the rearranged Skrill North fixture against Histon on Tuesday 28th January will be ‘pay what you want.’\r\n\r\nThe club trialed the idea against Colwyn Bay last season and it proved to be a huge success and new Chairman Stuart Pike believes it’ll be a great gesture to Tigers fans everywhere.\r\n\r\n”Last season the club first offered supporters the opportunity to donate whatever they chose to pay when Colwyn Bay were the visitors and it was received enthusiastically by everyone,” Pike commented.\r\n\r\n”Though the reason on that occasion was primarily in relation to boost club finances, despite our change in financial circumstances off the field this season, the Board agreed to make a similar gesture to see how the fans respond this time.”\r\n\r\nLee Mills, Chairman of the Gloucester City Supporters Trust, believes this game is one not to miss.\r\n\r\n”We are wholeheartedly behind this gesture and bearing in mind the Trust always benefits from more people coming through the turnstiles, we applaud the move to encourage more fans to attend.”\r\n\r\nIf you only decide to make it to one match this season then put this date in your diary.\r\n\r\n”Buckets will be on hand at the turnstiles to receive all donations.\r\n\r\n”Last season donations exceeded £5,000 plus extra income the Trust were able to raise over and above their normal match day operations; it would be great to mirror that effort”.\r\n\r\nSpecial posters and more information will be issued shortly.
