Gloucester City Football Club are delighted to announce that Tim Harris has won the Vanarama National League North manager of the month award for March.
The Tigers have been on red hot form as the season draws to a close and in the four games his side played this month, Harris saw the team pick up 10 points out of a possible 12 and going undefeated.
It would be fair to say that the Tigers faced some tricky tests in March, with trips to Bradford Park Avenue and FC Halifax Town both yielding 1-0 wins for City.
The visits of Harrogate Town and Alfreton Town were also successful ones, with the Tigers picking up a toughly contested 1-1 draw and a comfortable 4-0 victory respectively.
Speaking on being recognised with the accolade, Harris said “It’s always nice to receive awards and this one is no exception.”
The gaffer was keen to emphasise that the award is not just down to him on an individual level, but the whole backroom staff deserve credit.
“In terms of the manager of the month award, it isn’t down to one person and I know everybody says that but I’ve got a fantastic group of staff behind me.
“My assistant manager and player coach have been absolutely fantastic this season, Matt Rose and Mark Richards have played a magnificent part.”
He said the players deserve some recognition: “We can’t get away from the fact that the players have delivered on the pitch and that’s what gets you the results you need.”
Looking ahead to the final seven games of the season, Harris re-emphasised that the squad would not be resting on their laurels.
“Obviously if you look at the last few weeks our form has been really good. We all know that the National League North is very tough and we go to Curzon Ashton on Saturday not taking anything for granted.
“They beat us 2-0 at our place and their results as of late have been a bit up and down but we can’t be worrying about other teams, we need to keep doing what we’re doing which is working hard and putting on a show for our fans.”
