Robert Alexander COLDRAY\r\n\r\nOne of the greatest servants in the history of Gloucester City is Rob Coldray.\r\n\r\nThe only player to play over 300 times and score over 100 goals, he served the club as a player, a manager and a director.\r\n\r\nIn 1964/65 he also became the inaugural Player of the Season, a yearly award that is still given to this day.\r\n\r\n

Rob Coldray

\r\n\r\nGloucester born and bred, he was educated at St Thomas Rich’s, where he was described as he could ‘develop into something outstanding at inside right’, they weren’t wrong.\r\n\r\nThe prolific goalscorer made his Southern League debut in 1954 after his release from the army and saw a lifelong affiliation to his local team begin.\r\n\r\nArguably his finest moment for the club was a brace, including an extra-time winner, in the sensational 1955/56 Southern League Cup final fightback against Yeovil Town.\r\n\r\nBrief switches to Cheltenham Town and Cinderford Town sandwiched his three spells with the Tigers and after retirement he became an honorary director of the club.\r\n\r\nRob currently lives in the Brockworth area with his wife.\r\n\r\nCareer Stats\r\nDebut – 08/01/1955 v Guildford City (A) Lost 1-2\r\n\r\nFinal – 02/05/1970 (as sub) v Hillingdon Borough (H) Lost 1-4\r\n\r\n1954/55 22 apps 9 gls\r\n1955/56 28 apps 9 gls\r\n1956/57 35 apps 17 gls\r\n1957/58 29 apps 16 gls\r\n1958/59 52 apps 21 gls\r\n1959/60 19 apps 10 gls\r\n1962/63 37 apps 9 gls\r\n1963/64 46 apps 10 gls\r\n1964/65 39 apps 6 gls\r\n1965/66 36 apps 0 gls\r\n1969/70 3 apps 2 subs 1 gl (1 nps)\r\nTOTAL 346 apps 2 subs 108 gls (1 nps)\r\n\r\nClub Record: Longford, Gloucester City, Cheltenham Town, Gloucester City, Cinderford Town, Gloucester City, Stonehouse.
