Gloucester City’s players have dipped their hands into their own pockets to subsidise supporters travel to the Tigers’ long Emirates FA Cup trip to Leiston on Saturday.\r\n\r\nCity travel across the country on Saturday as they embark on a 420 mile round trip in the regionalised 3rd Qualifying Round of the competition.\r\n\r\nA win would see them progress to the 4th Qualifying Round, a stage they’ve reached 4 seasons in a row, where a potential tie against local rivals Cheltenham Town or Forest Green Rovers could be on offer.\r\n\r\nGloucester City Supporters Trust were hopeful of running a coach but the price of £30 per head was deemed too steep for some.\r\n\r\nHowever thanks to two lots of generous donations from the players and an anonymous donor, they can now offer travel there and back for just £15 a head.\r\n\r\nSpeaking about the upcoming match, Tigers centre back Jack Harris said “The players love having the support from our fans.\r\n\r\n“With the travelling in our league it can be hard to get the numbers at games so we all appreciate whenever they can make it.\r\n\r\n“We have a good group of lads at the club that are aware of what the supporters and the Supporters Trust do for us throughout the season.”\r\n\r\nHarris continues “When we were drawn against a team that could potentially be one of our longest trips of the season, we wanted as many fans there as possible for what is going to be a massive game for the club.\r\n\r\n“So hopefully this gesture will help out and we can get a few more numbers there to support the boys. We wish all those travelling a safe trip.”\r\n\r\nIf you would like to book a space on the coach, contact Dave Jones on 07540 257464 or on Twitter @daveangel1972.
