3 goals & another red card for City was what was on offer for the 320 inside The Abbey Business Stadium this afternoon for the final home fixture of the season.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nPlayoff chasing Stalybridge Celtic were the opposition, a team who City have only ever taken 1 point off in the 5 fixtures between the 2 sides.\r\n\r\nStalybridge got off to the better start taking the lead after just 3 mins when the ball fell to Rea on the edge of the box to smash the ball past Humpries starting his second ever Blue SQ North match for City.\r\n\r\nHalf Time Gloucester City 0-1 Stalybridge Celtic\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe tables were turned at the start of the second half as 3 mins in the tigers were level when a bizzare Darren Mullings flicked header found its way past Butz in the Celtic goal. Both sides had chances after this with Celtic hitting the cross bar. But with just under 20 mins to go a neat spell of passing for Celtic worked its way to Sheriff in the City box who easily fired into the net putting Celtic 2-1 in front. It went from bad to worse for City with the 5th red card of the season was given out, this time to City midfielder Matt Lock for a 2 footed lunge. In the end a 10 man City couldn’t do enough to level up against a strong Stalybridge side who sit in 6th 1 point behind FC Halifax in the final play off spot going into the last game of the season.
