Gloucester City will play host to Derby County at Evesham United’s Jubilee Stadium on Saturday 29 July, with a 15:00 kick-off.
The Rams will be the Tigers penultimate opponents in a packed pre-season schedule, that will see us face off against eight teams in total including the likes of Bristol Rovers and Newport County.
It will be only the second ever meeting against Derby. The only time we have faced off against the Rams before was a pre-season friendly in 1997, which finished in a 5-1 defeat. Chris Burns was the scorer for the Tigers.
There is no doubting it will be a stern test but we are looking forward to welcoming Gary Rowett’s side to Evesham.
We can now also confirm the final two fixtures in our pre-season programme: away trips to Malvern Town and Slimbridge AFC.
Tim Harris’ men will travel to Malvern Town on Tuesday 18 July with kick-off at 19:45.
The fixture will be the second pre-season meeting between the two sides with the last fixture coming in 2008, a 0-0 draw.
A week later we will visit Thornhill Park for a second time in pre-season, but this time it will be to play the usual residents, Slimbridge AFC.
We will play two fixtures at Slimbridge, with the first a friendly against Bristol Rovers as the home side on Saturday 15 July and the second as the away side against the Swans on Tuesday 25 July at 19:45.
Just like Malvern and Derby, we have only faced Slimbridge once before in pre-season, a 1-0 defeat in 2006.
