Gloucester City will open their 2016/17 National League fixtures with a trip to ‘Class of 92’ backed Manchester side Salford City.\r\n\r\nThe Tigers will visit Salford on the opening day of the 2016/17 season on 6 August – a fixture that will whet the appetite of many Tigers fans, we are sure.\r\n\r\nThen follows two home fixtures against Nuneaton Town and Gainsborough Trinity on 9 and 13 August respectively.\r\n\r\nThe Tigers will then meet rivals Worcester City on Tuesday 16 August at Bromsgrove, where Worcester will play their home matches this season.\r\n\r\nThe return fixture will have to wait until 28 January 2017, when the Tigers welcome Worcester to Whaddon Road.\r\n\r\nWith the Tigers usual festive opponents Worcester in action against Kidderminster Harriers on Boxing and New Year’s Day, City will face Brackley Town over this period.\r\n\r\nThe first fixture (26 December) will be away at Brackley’s St James’ Park, with the return fixture at Whaddon Road on Sunday 1 January.\r\n\r\nTrips to Greater Manchester bookend the season for the Tigers, as they travel to Stockport County’s Edgeley Park on the final day of the 2016/17 campaign.\r\n\r\nThe full fixture list can be viewed here.
