It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gloucester City stalwart Gwenda Halford.

Gwenda was as passionate a Gloucester City fan as any, and the club are devastated to learn of her passing.

Tributes have been pouring in for Gwenda online. Supporters Trust Chairman Ian Compton said “Gwenda was a close friend to many of us and a longstanding supporter of both the Trust and Football Club.

“We are all truly devastated to learn she has passed and we send our condolences to [son] Paul and family at this time.”

Club Treasurer and close friend Trevor King added to the tributes.

“I had the privilege to know Gwenda for many years through Church and football, she was a lovely person and her last act of kindness was Paul giving me a chq (sic) from her to sponsor a player for this season, always looking out to help the club / trust.”

Former Supporters Trust board member Phil Gough adds “I have known her for about 30 years being on supporters trust committee with her at one time. She was Gloucester City through and through. She will be missed by so many at the football club. RIP Gwenda.”

Everyone associated with Gloucester City Football Club send our condolences to Paul and Gwenda’s friends & family at this time.
