Gloucester City are pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Harris as First Team Manager. Harris joins from Newport County where he has had a highly successful spell as Director of Football, and has previous managerial experience with Cinderford Town, Newport, Merthyr Tydfil, and Forest Green Rovers.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nIn making the announcement Chairman Stuart Pike expressed his delight in capturing the services of Harris; “I am delighted that Tim has agreed to come back to City. He of course knows the club inside out, having previously had spells here as a player, Assistant Manager, Manager, and General Manager, leaving the club shortly after promotion to the Conference North was achieved in 2010. He was our first choice for the position, bringing a wealth of experience, and a commitment that will be fully tested as we look to move on up the table to safety”.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nHarris meanwhile explained his decision to return “I left the club in 2010 to finish a job I had started at Newport, and I have done that now, contributing to two promotions and two Wembley appearances in the space of three seasons. But I retain an absolute passion for Gloucester City and having completed the job I set myself at Newport I am keen to drive City forward now. I have come back with a burning desire to see the club successful on and off the field, and look forward to working with all sections of the club, especially the youth and community arms, to achieve that”.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nHarris will attend training this evening, but will ask caretaker manager Matt Rose and assistant Neil Mustoe to take the game at Solihull so he can step back and assess the team. His first game in charge will therefore be the home game the following Tuesday when Histon are the visitors.
